  • Norway Rat – This is the largest of the common rodents in the temperate regions of the planet. It is usually brown with black hairs that are scattered. The fur is coarse with underside yellow and gray/white coloring. It only damages material by gnawing. It eats and also contaminates stored food. It is also a carrier of many diseases.   • Ants – The Carpenter Ant is almost always black but it can also appear reddish. Carpenter ants cannot digest wood but they will chew out tunnels and hollow places to create nests.   • Silverfish – Their color is metal gray to a silvery satin. They might be confused with firebrats but firebrats do not have the silvery shine.
